We’re starting off this list with one of the biggest chains of liquor stores in Texas. Spec’s Wines, Spirits, & Finer Food is one of our favorite stores to get alcohol delivery in Austin.
One of the things that really impressed us when we purchased a gift for a friend was Spec’s huge alcohol selection. It’s probably the biggest in Austin, with almost 10,000 different types of alcohol on its shelves.
They have over 3,000 wines, over 4,000 spirits, and over 1,000 beers and seltzers, so we had a lot of choices, and it was easier to find something that our friend would like.
We also love that they offer food, so you can purchase something to go with the alcohol. They have meats, chips, cheese, sweets, salsas, jams, and even party trays.
They have a same-day delivery service, which is perfect when you need the alcohol delivered as soon as possible. You can get your liquor delivered on the same day as long as you place an order before 6 PM.
One thing we’re a bit disappointed about, though, is the 10% restocking fee that they charge for every return. That’s why you must think carefully before buying, especially if it’s expensive, as 10% is not cheap.
Thankfully, this doesn’t apply when they get your order wrong. A few customers received different alcohol from what they ordered, so it’s great that the store offers a full refund or replacement.

With 250 branches in the United States, Total Wines & More is one of the biggest retailers that provide alcohol delivery in the country. They currently have two branches in Austin and two more in nearby cities.
Our favorite thing about shopping at Total Wines & More is their reasonable prices. Their long years in the industry and connections allow them to offer their alcohol at competitive prices.
We also love that orders above $99 on 750 ml and/or 1.5 L Winery Direct wines or 750 ml or larger Spirits Direct are delivered for free. This is an amazing deal for people looking to buy larger wines and spirits since they can save up on the delivery fee.
Their Mueller branch also offers same-day alcohol delivery, which is actually quite speedy, as we were able to get our order in under an hour. You can also ask them to deliver it at a different time during checkout.
We’re just a bit disappointed at the few reports of expired beers being delivered. It’s probably a mistake by the staff, but it would be great if such a thing doesn’t happen again.
We also hope they can improve their customer service. Our experience in the store wasn’t as smooth as our experience when we got a wine delivered.
Some of the staff didn’t have the best attitude, and we had a hard time getting help and recommendation from them.

A & B Liquor is a local liquor store in Austin that has been consistently providing great quality alcohol for 30 years. It’s one of our favorite stores to get bourbon because of its great selection and fast alcohol delivery service.
They have some hard-to-find bourbons like the Weller Special Reserve, which we couldn’t find anywhere else in Austin. It’s always out of stock, so it’s amazing that A&B has it.
We also love that they have their own alcohol delivery app. It makes the ordering process a lot smoother, and we’re also able to monitor our orders better.
Another thing we like about them is the 10% discount for new customers. It’s only available for online orders, so it can be helpful if you’re looking to get alcohol delivered to someone.
The prices in the store can also be quite high, so discounts are very much appreciated. Some of their alcohols are priced higher than their competitors, and some of the rare ones cost way above the suggested retail price.
It’s also a bummer that their beer selection is quite small. Almost all of them are American beers, which is disappointing for fans of German and Belgian beers like us.

Travis Heights Wine & Spirits has one of the best alcohol selections among local liquor stores in Austin.
Their wine selection, particularly, deserves a lot of praise because of how well-curated it is. They have some Greek wines that can be quite hard to find in some liquor stores.
They also have rare alcohol in stock, like the El Jolgorio Todos Santos Mezcaleros Tobala and the Adrien Camut Calvados Pays d’ Auge. These kinds of rare alcohol can be great gifts, so we usually go to them when we need something for special occasions.
However, since many of their products are rare, they can be quite expensive. Some are sold above the suggested retail price because of how hard they are to find.
Another thing we really love about them is their knowledgeable staff. They always give us valuable insights and great recommendations, which are extremely helpful when we can’t choose.
Their mobile delivery app also makes it easier for users to browse their selections. Ordering alcohol delivery is more convenient, as we don’t have to fill up a lot of forms every time we order.
The only problem we really have about their alcohol delivery service is the few instances of sending wrong orders. Although it hasn’t happened to us, some customers voiced complaints about this, so we hope they can be more thorough with orders.

South Lamar Wine & Spirits is another local liquor store that offers amazing alcohol delivery services. They’re known for their speedy service, delivering alcohol in just an hour.
Aside from their delivery service, what we like about this store is their staff. They’re very knowledgeable about their inventory and are able to provide helpful descriptions for each of their products, so it’s easier for us to shop.
They’re also easy to contact and are very helpful and friendly on the phone, making our transactions with them always a pleasant experience.
Another great thing about them is they can help you find alcohol that they don’t have in stock. Since they’re a relatively small store, they don’t always have everything in stock, so this is a great help for those who really want specific items.
Just note that their alcohols are a bit more expensive compared to other stores. Since they don’t have the same networks as bigger chains, their prices are a bit higher, especially for rare products.
Another thing to note is that they don’t deliver on Tuesdays even if the physical store is open.
